Integrating Confluent and Azure – Kickstart event streaming between Azure Cosmos DB and Confluent Cloud

« Kafka Summit Europe 2021

Customers often face challenges while building and managing distributed systems like Apache Kafka as it is a complex and resource intensive process. They would rather focus on solving their customer problems and drive innovation. In this session, you will learn about the key investments made by Confluent and Microsoft. A fully managed seamless integration layer is being built between Confluent Cloud and Azure which makes the process of adopting event streaming easier than ever, reduces the burden of managing resources across Azure and Confluent. This will also enable you to collect, store, process event streams in real-time and feed them to multiple Azure data services.

The features demonstrated in this session are as follows

  • Provision a new Confluent Cloud resource from Azure portal / CLI
  • Single sign-on (SSO) from Azure to Confluent Cloud with your existing Azure Active Directory (AAD) identities
  • Manage Confluent Cloud resources from Azure Confluent is extensively used as distributed data platform that enables large-scale applications and microservices running on Azure Cosmos DB. Come learn about the newly available self-managed Azure Cosmos DB connector to safely deliver data and events in real time. We will also demonstrate on how to quickly setup your data pipelines with the all new connector.
